Board Member Job Descriptions

President
The President shall preside at all membership and board meetings. He/she shall make a full report of the years activities at the annual membership meeting. He/she shall appoint all standing committees and shall designate the chair thereof, subject to the approval of the Board.


President Elect
The President Elect must be present at all the officially called board and membership meetings. Should the President Elect forfeit his position, it will be automatically filled by the Vice President.


Vice President
The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in his absence and of the President Elect, should they for any reason be unable to assume or complete their terms of office. The Vice President assumes responsibility for the Nominations and Elections Committee.


Secretary
The Secretary will keep minutes of all meetings of the organization, be responsible for all organization communications, and notify all members of all meetings. A synopsis of the minutes of all membership and board meetings will be sent to all members in the newsletter and placed on WVAPA Web site.


Treasurer
The Treasurer shall maintain accurate records of the financial status of the organization, collect yearly dues from all members, deposit into the organization's account all monies received by the organization, and pay all bills. Disbursement of funds exceeding $300 that have not been previously approved by the Board shall require approval of the President. He/she shall be responsible for making an annual budget to be presented at the annual membership meeting, to be approved by the general membership by a majority vote of those present.


Immediate Past President
The Immediate Past President shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.


Director At Large
The Director at Large shall participate from time to time in the management of the affairs of the Association in such manner as assigned by the President. He/she shall be designated as the Sargent at Arms and Parliamentarian.


Chief Delegate
The Chief Delegate, along with the President, will be responsible for all affairs of the Association that involve the Association's interaction with the AAPA, and will bring before the Board all pertinent information for discussion. In addition, the Chief Delegate will be responsible for submitting to the Board all pre-filed resolutions from the Association to the AAPA House of Delegates for Board approval.


Student Representatives
Student Representatives from the PA programs are voting members of the Board at all meetings. The Student representative is elected by his/her respective student society.
